get to know al&mo

who are al&mo? we’re a creative duo based in London, using our art and writing chops to help good causes. we met over a decade ago through school friends and have been making things together ever since. working in grassroots activism in our early 20s, we saw that good design was inaccessible to many non-profits - and made it our mission to change things! we love working with people who share our values - we’re into social & environmental justice, arts & culture, independent journalism, and open source technologies.

why al&mo? we’ve been working with civil society and ethical brands for over a decade, so we share your values and understand your unique challenges • we’re communications strategists, not just designers, so our work is grounded in a big-picture understanding of your goals and stakeholders • we believe in fair, transparent pricing and can sometimes offer pro bono work for grassroots organisations • we’re a small, specialised team with a broad network of creative freelancers on call, so you’ll always get the best expert for the job

Alice Bridgwood

creative director

Alice “Al” Bridgwood has spent the last 12 years as a communications strategist and creative director for global non-profits, from Doctors Without Borders to the United Nations. They handle the words side of things at al&mo - they have a background in copywriting and are also a poet (don’t worry, they won’t make you read any). Recently they’ve been leading design teams for several internet freedom initiatives and creating national campaign strategies to fight for library rights. They love helping organisations communicate complex messages in a simple way or express values through brand voice.

Freya Morgan

lead designer

Freya “Mo” Morgan has over 10 years’ experience as a designer and illustrator and leads al&mo’s design work. She studied Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins and has since been designing things for countless global brands, non-profits, and publications, from Greenpeace to Ecover. Recently she’s been creating new visual brands for Al Hudood and Internet Archive Europe, working on interactive design for several open-source apps, and creating marketing content for Method. She loves helping social impact organisations develop their own unique visual language and style.
